About the Building

The Queen Anne Cottage is a historic structure located on the grounds of the Los Angeles County Arboretum.

It features an octagon-shaped tower with a finial and extensive gingerbread millwork.

History

The cottage was probably built as a wedding gift for owner Elias Jackson Baldwin's fourth wife Lillie. After Elias and Lillie separated, he dedicated it to the memory of his third wife, who had died four years earlier.
